Our Philosophy
Trinity Lutheran School holds firm to the belief that God has revealed Himself to us in His Holy Word, the inspired Scriptures. In this we learn to know God as our loving Father, Jesus as our loving Savior, and the Holy Spirit as our Sanctifier. The chief purpose of the Bible is to show us the way to heaven.
We believe that every human is born in sin and stands guilty and condemned before God. However, God gave us His own Son who took our guilt and died for our sins at the cross on Calvary. His resurrection is our guarantee that our sins are forgiven and that we shall live forever in heaven. It is the Holy Spirit who created faith in our hearts and keeps us in the faith by the power of God's Word, namely, the Gospel.
Trinity Lutheran School believes in the teaching of the whole child. This means not only do we address the academic needs of the child, but the social and physical needs as well and most importantly, the spiritual needs. The home, church, and school must work together as a unit if these needs are to be met.
The subjects at Trinity are all taught from a Christian point of view. The children learn to know that God has made each one an individual. Each child or individual has been given talents and gifts which are to be put to use to God's glory and in service to our neighbor. Both Law and Gospel are used in creating an environment in which the children can grow in their "faith life". Only the Gospel can motivate and empower students and teachers as they work toward becoming productive individuals in the home, church, and community.
Basic Purposes of Trinity
The purposes of Trinity Lutheran School include the following:
1. That each child comes to KNOW JESUS CHRIST as their Lord and Savior. This is most important!
2. That each child GROWS in his or her knowledge of God and the world He created.
3. To PREPARE students for a purposeful and meaningful life in their future occupations.
4. That students DEVELOP an understanding of the gifts and talents God has given them and apply them accordingly.
5. To PRESENT ALL SUBJECTS in light of God's inspired Word.
6. To REACH OUT into the community with the Gospel, especially to those without a church home.
"And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (II Timothy 3:15)
Trinity regards the family life as MOST important to the growth and learning of the child. The father and mother are the PRIME educators of their children, and they determine their children's values, standards, and attitudes. It is the role of the school and church to support this important task. Christian parents, with the help of God will attempt to do the following:
1. To mainstream a desirable adult image for their child.
2. To foster cooperation in accomplishing many household tasks.
3. To develop feelings of security in the child and in themselves.
4. To conduct family devotions.
5. To love the child for who he/she is rather than what he/she does.
6. To have the forgiveness that is ours in Christ motivate all activities.
7.To encourage the child to complete all assignments to the best of his/her ability.
8. To encourage creative expression, thinking, and experimenting.
9. To join children in Sunday worship and in attending Sunday School and Bible Class.
10. To support the actions of the school personnel and to encourage love, trust, and cooperation in the child's relationships at school with students and staff.
